STEP OF FAITH

Do you ever wonder, "Why am I here on earth? How can God possibly use me?"

Have you ever noticed it is so easy to look behind you and see how God has done His work? What seems like a trial to you is just a small part of God's plan, so we can see God's many wonders.

We are to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray daily and in times of need. When we build that relationship by praying, reading God's Holy Words, and living our lives as Christ-like as possible, we feel that Jesus is right beside us; especially when we need him. Do we have that same feeling when we are sinning?

We often ask for signs when we don't know what to do or where to go. Often, and mostly very impatiently, we have a busy schedule, so God "needs to hurry." People asked for signs in the Old Testament. So -- I will wait for a sign for God to show me what I'm supposed to do, right? Some people wait their whole lives for God to do all the work and lay their purpose right in their laps.

How hard is it going to be when one is of old age to look back over the years with regrets of not taking the first step of faith?

Jesus appeared to the disciples in their time of trouble when they were on the Sea of Galilee. The waves were fierce and with no end in sight to the mighty storm, there was Jesus in their time of need. He was there all along.

When Peter saw him -- what a relief! His desire was to go to Jesus. How hard was it to take that first step out of the boat? Was he thinking that he, too, could stand on the water and perform the same miracle as Jesus? Or did Peter want out of his situation? I know - for myself - it would be very hard for me to get out of that boat -- my safety and security zone.

With all the knowledge that the Bible has to offer, and that Jesus paid the price for our sins, now and in the future, for everyone, and that all things are part of God's plans -- why is it so hard for us to walk in Faith?

Take the First Step!

Jesus is beside you, behind you, in front of you, above and below you. Most of all He is in our hearts and souls, waiting for us to believe and Take that First Step of Faith.

HE IS JUST A LITTLE BOY

He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom or Dad cannot help him, he stands alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball meets the plate, he swings and he misses.
There is a groan from the crowd, with some boos  and some hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries out, "Strike out the bum."
Tears fill his eyes; the game is no longer fun.
So open your hearts and give the little boy a break.
For it's moments like this, a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind, when you hear someone  forget;
He is just a little boy and not a man yet.
