Frances Everna Burkhalter

Frances Everna Burkhalter, 100, of Chandler, passed away March 24, 2008 in Chandler, Texas. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at Eubank Chapel-Canton, with the Rev. Russell Hall officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas.

Mrs. Burkhalter was born January 20, 1908 at Garfield, Arkansas to Harvey John and Cora May Rayon Ford.

She was a member of Edom United Methodist Church. During her life she was a homemaker, cashier for Wyatt's Cafeteria and a business school Instructor. She celebrated her 100th birthday on January 20, 2008 and was awarded a plaque by the Texas Silver Hair Legislature. She had a great day.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Oscar Burkhalter, one great-grandchild, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include daughter, Norma Shotts, Chandler; son Edjuel R. Burkhalter and wife Shyanne, Dallas, Texas; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Harvey, Porterville, California and Faye Jackson, Commerce, Texas; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Serving as pallbearers were Edward Burkhalter, Steve Pace, Robert Garrett, John Priebe, Gerry Ikard, Howard Taft.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Martin, Kyle Garrett, Paul Kennedy, Ben Garrett, Lewis Jackson.
