Teams complete first round of district golf meet

      District 14-3A began the district golf meet on Monday in Canton at the Van Zandt Country Club. After the first round of play the Brownsboro boys are in third place, two strokes behind Bullard for second place. Canton is the leader at 327, 14 strokes ahead of Brownsboro.

Strong first half leads to Jags 48-0 win over Xtreme
      The Athens based Texas Xtreme semi-pro football team traveled to Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana, Saturday and were defeated 48- 0, suffering their third shutout game of the season and third in the 7-year team history. The Jaguars scored all 48 points in the first half.

Bears pound Canton, fall to Bullard

      Brownsboro played two games at home last week as they defeated Canton 11-1 on Tuesday before falling to Bullard 12-1 on Friday. By splitting District 14-3A action the Bears were tied for third place entering Tuesday nights game in Athens.

Second half of district play underway

      Last week began on the wrong foot for the Brownsboro Bearette softball team as the game scheduled on Tuesday against Canton had to be rescheduled. The game was rescheduled to Wednesday due to the fact that only one umpire showed up to the Tuesday night game.
