Brownsboro High School students advance to academic regionals

Eight students from the Brownsboro High School University Interscholastic League academic team are off to the regional UIL competition on April 12. These students placed in categories such as accounting and feature writing, and BHS's journalism program took first and third in editorial and feature writing.

Michael Perry placed 4th in accounting and 6th in number sense. Chris Radford placed 4th in computer applications. Muhammad Bilal placed 3rd in science and 6th in mathematics. Juan Macias achieved "Top Biology Student". Amanda Parker won 2nd for prose interpretation. Haley Smith won 1st for feature writing, 3rd for editorial writing and 4th for news writing. Eric Orange got 1st in editorial writing, 2nd in headline writing and 3rd in feature writing. Kallie Murphy placed 3rd in headline writing, 4th in feature writing and 5th in news writing. Parker, Smith, Orance, Murphy, Bilal and Macias will advance to regionals with Radford and Perry as alternates.
