Cook of the Week
      Oleta Mayfield Dodson has lived in Murchison for practically her entire life. "Murchison is a very nice place," Oleta noted. "It has very fine people in it." Oleta married Roy Dodson, now deceased, around 1932. Roy passed away in 2000; they had been married 67 years.

Behind the success
     These men fried the fish during the KCB Fish Fry Sunday afternoon at the Chandler Community Center. Enough money was raised to purchase additional city banners for HWY-31 and FM-315 making the event a success.

BHS has a good week at Livestock Show
      Brownsboro High School had a good week overall at the annual Henderson County Livestock Show. Derek Sims, agriculture teacher at BHS, said there were quite a few first year students. "It was a good learning experience for some of the kids," Sims said.

Nutt wins Republican sheriff nomination

      The results are in for the Republican sheriff nominee runoff election. Ray Nutt is the victor. What began in the March 4 Primary Elections when frontrunner Ray Nutt and runner up A.W. "Tony" Allison each failed to garner 50 percent of the votes ended April 8 with a victory for the frontrunner.

     It's a new year and a new spring, so that brings a new "Yard of the Month" which is chosen by the Friends and Flowers Garden Club of Brownsboro. April's recipients are Liz and Bob Eubanks who live at 14260 CR-3300 (Redbud Road) north of Brownsboro.
