Sermon, April 20, "Gathering at the River of Life"; Scripture, Revelation 22:1-21

Pastor Munch is constantly reminding us how important prayer is to our Church and in our personal lives. We have numerous prayer groups within the Church and we are frequently called upon as individuals to pray for each other or someone within the community. Let your friends and acquaintances know that FUMC is a prayerful Church and if they ever have a need for prayer to call the Church at 903-849- 6839 or e-mail the prayer committee at chandlerfumc @yahoo.com. The mission of each member is to give of "our prayers, our presence, our gifts and our service."

Sunday the Methodist Men will provide a hamburger luncheon to raise funds to help with the transportation costs for the Boy Scouts' trip to the Philmont Scout Reservation in Cimarron, NM. Those attending will spend two weeks in the wilderness backpacking. This activity will be for Scouts 14 and older. Those under 14 may spend a week at the Tom Hale Scout Reservation in the Indian Nation near Talihina, Oklahoma. Cub Scouts from 9 to 10 years, called Webelos (we will be loyal scouts) will attend a three-day or a seven-day "day camp" in Athens, Texas.

This year there are 21 Boy Scouts and 26 Cub Scouts participating in the FUMC/Boy Scouts of America troop. Frank Griffin, Scout Master, requested that if you have any questions about the various summer activities for the Scouts you may call him at 903-849-3238 or email him at frkgriffin @embarqmail.com. No Scout meetings are scheduled for July but will start back August 2nd.

North by Northwest District Church Camp is scheduled for July 7-11. Deadline for registration is April 30th. We all have wonderful memories of going to Church Camp each summer. Sixty years ago it was the highlight of my summers. Make sure to encourage your children or grandchildren to attend; they will cherish the memories forever
