John Wallace
"A Man with a Heart"

Services for John M. Wallace, 81, of Chandler, were held at noon April 5, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Chandler, with the Rev. L. Moore officiating. Burial was in Chandler Memorial Cemetery, under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. of Tyler.

Mr. Wallace died April 2, 2008, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born October 17, 1926, in Henderson County, and attended Chandler public schools. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy and was a retired custodian and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacon board and Sunday school superintendent. He was also a former city council member.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Wallace of Chandler; son, Milton Wallace of Longview; brother, Waylan Wallace of Dallas; and sisters, Margaret Drawhorn of Dallas, Alice Breedlove and Charlie Barrett, both of Duncanville.
