Larry Melton

Memorial services for Mr. Larry J. Melton were held Friday, April 11, 2008 at Hilliard Funeral Home, Van, with Rev. Doyle Rutledge officiating, under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home.

Mr. Melton passed away at the age of 62 on April 6, 2008 at his home in Chandler.

Larry was born October 21, 1945 in Tyler, Texas, to the late Lawrence Loyd Melton, Sr. and Mary June Vance Melton. He had been a resident of Chandler for almost 18 years, formerly living in Tyler. He worked in construction, was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Melton; eight children, Michael Melton and wife Melissa of Flint, Michele Rankins and husband Earl of New Jersey, Robert Torres and wife Cathy of North Carolina, Lois Torres of New Jersey, Cynthia Gorden and husband Johnny of Bonham, Tammy Kinser and husband Paul of Blue Ridge, Teresa Brown and husband Kyle of McKinney and Jimmy Caraway and wife Felicia of McKinney; one brother, Lawrence Loyd Melton, Jr. of Dallas; four sisters, Neva Tyler of McKinney, Rita Kidd, Ginger Kennedy and Linda Carpenter- Stephens, all of Tyler; eighteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
