Brownsboro golfers advance to regionals

Two members of the Brownsboro boys golf team has advanced to the regional tournament as individuals. The entire team has also advanced to the tournament to be held on April 21-22 in Sherman, Texas at Tanglewood Country Club.

Drew Pirtle, a junior, claimed first place at the District 14-3A meet with a final score of 152. Pirtle shot a 78 at Van Zandt Country Club in the first round and a 74 in the second round at Oakhurst in Bullard.

Senior Andrew Pollard earned third place at the district meet with a score of 157. He shot a 79 at Van Zandt Country Club and a 78 at Oakhurst.

Canton's David Eubanks wedged himself into second place with a score of 153.

As a team Brownsboro finished in second place with a score of 668. Canton earned first with a score of 654.

During the tournament the boys did better at Oakhurt, shooting a 327. They shot a 341 in windy conditions at the Van Zandt Country Club.

As a team, Brownsboro finished in second place in the District 14-3A tournament with a score of 668. Members of the team are, Mikey Grace, Drew Pirtle, Andrew Pollard, Trent Richards and Cody Bratton.
At Oakhurst Coby Bratton shot 93, Mikey Grace shot 96 and Trent Richards shot 82.

For the girls Kaylee Wood shot a 132, Amye Scarborough shot 131, Paige Penny shot 134 and Holly Hargrave shot 124. The girls finished fourth overall with a score of 1053. Canton won the girls district title with a score of 828.

Wood finished ninth overall with a score of 260.

Junior Varsity boys medalists were Peyton Williams, Bryce Williams, Colby Sanders and Steven Davis.

Brownsboro's JV team shot a 846. Team members are Daniel Meyer (223), Jeff Smiley (214), Will Jones (213), Colton Dowdle (206) and Corbin Duke (259).
