Arthur `A.D.' Phillips

Services for Arthur Dalton "A.D." Phillips, 82, Ben Wheeler, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Edom, with the Revs. Greg Lytle and David McNairy officiating.

Burial was in Edom Cemetery under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.

Mr. Phillips died April 20, 2008, in Tyler. He was born June 15, 1925, in El Dorado, Ark., to the late Earnst and Manie Phillips. He lived in Irving prior to moving to Ben Wheeler in 1977. He worked in the maintenance departments of St. Paul University Hospital and Baylor Hospital, both in Dallas, and Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was also a Mason and a member of First Baptist Church, Edom. He was preceded in death by his son, John Anthony Phillips.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Phillips, Ben Wheeler; children, Glen Phillips, JoAnn Stroud and Lanita Houston, all of Ben Wheeler; brother, Austin Phillips, Equine, Ark.; sister, Daisy Sessions, Thermopolis, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
