Sales tax collections on the rise

      The state sales tax collections have increased for the month of March over last year's. Texas is up 7.4 percent over March of 2007, accounting for a total $1.6 billion. Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller, said despite a slowing national economy, Texas' sales tax collections are steady.
