Community invited to join in the National Day of Prayer The Chandler area churches invite everyone to come to Winchester Park on Thursday, May 1st and participate in the National Day of Prayer. At 12:00 noon we will have a Welcome and opening Prayer given by Ken Reid, with some gathering songs led by Rev. David Darst (Faith Baptist Church- Chandler). Before breaking into smaller prayer circles, we will hear Scripture read by Rev. Richard Prather (Lake Palestine United Methodist Church). Attendees will be invited to join in small prayer groups. Our prayers will be initiated by community leaders like Joye Rains, Ronnie Reeves and Robert York. After an initial prayer by the lead person, the small groups will offer individual prayers around the various topics (city/community; law enforcement; fire fighters/emergency response teams; the federal government, schools, churches). Our time together will formally close with group singing led by Rev. Darst and a departing prayer by Rev. Keith Lough (Sunrise Assembly of God). Formal activity will be concluded by 12:45 p.m., allowing time to return to work before 1:00 p.m. |
