Faith Baptist Chandler Bro. David is preaching a series of sermons on the family and home on Sunday mornings. These messages are very timely and important in the midst of the breakdown of the family in our society today. Come worship with us as we are reminded of the importance of having Christ in the center of our homes. The mission team who recently returned from a mission trip to Guatemala showed pictures and spoke of their experiences during the Sunday night service. Those attending from Faith Baptist included Orlando DeHerrera, Patti Fenner, Cathy Carver, and Misty Bridges. Adult game night/potluck dinner will be held Friday, May 2, at 6:00 p.m. Come join in the fun and enjoy good food and fellowship. A Mexican food dinner will be provided and the movie, "Fly Wheel Cinco De Mayo" will be shown on Sunday night, May 4, sponsored by the youth. Tickets are $5.00 each, and proceeds will help defray costs for youth camp in Glorietta, New Mexico July 21-26. Let's all come out and support our youth. A Mother's Day Tea and Fellowship will be held May 10 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the home of Paul and Cathy Carver. All ladies are invited to join in the fellowship and fun. Twelve "Top of the Hill Gang" members met for lunch on Friday, April 11 at the 7 B Restaurant in Frankston. Everyone thought the food was wonderful. Those attending were Joyce and Jerry Houston, Paul and Betty Peavy, Ed and Tincy Robinson, Jack and Maxine Barnes, Paul and Dorothy McMillan and Joe and Mary Waddill. Their next outing will be Friday, May 9 at 11:30 at the Clear Springs Restaurant in Tyler. Jack and Maxine Barnes have been busy traveling during the past few weeks. They visited their daughter in Arkansas and attended their granddaughter's wedding at the First Baptist Church in Golden. Maxine also attended a wedding shower for her grandson in Rowlett Saturday. Nita LeMaster attended a family reunion last weekend. Helen Shifrin attended a camp for cancer survivors last week. Eva Shelby, Freda Forrester, and June Valliere enjoyed lunch after church Sunday at the China King Restaurant. Freda Forrester attended the ladies retreat at Rock Hill Baptist Church Saturday. She reported it was very enjoyable and inspirational. Let's remember all those who are experiencing health problems, especially Thelma Fletcher who is recuperating in the extended care facility at Trinity/Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. We have begun starting our Sunday school and worship services a few minutes earlier. Sunday school now starts at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, followed by the worship service at 10:30.
