Lions Den
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

The Pancake Supper on April 24 was a great success. How wonderful to see so many of you support Lion efforts, and to visit with friends over a simple, unrushed meal. The funds will further support our efforts for the Kids Camp in Kerrville, educational and summer projects, and upcoming fall activities, including Pow Wow festivities. We could not fund our projects without your support.

And the Winners Are: Rosalena Santana from Grand Prairie, and Joanne Davis from Chandler, recipients of the recent raffle for lap robes. Their names were pulled from tickets sold by Lions for the past two months, and each received a handmade throw, each with a religious theme. A great Lions roar of thanks to June Hitt, the talented lady who created these beautiful throws!

Student Recognition Program, May 6: The Lions will honor thirty-seven young people for outstanding citizenship. Each student has been selected by teachers in the seventh through twelfth grades in the Brownsboro-Chandler ISD. Thank you, Parents, for taking time to impress upon your children the meaning of good citizenship!

Hello, Tom! Meet our current Lions Club President, Lion Tom Martin. Many of you know Tom and his wife, Nancy, through their many civic and church activities in our community.

Tom and Nancy moved to Chandler from Bastrop, Texas, in 2000. He is a retired USAF veteran, and has been a Lion for four years. He finds great joy in assisting the physically challenged youngsters at the Texas Lions Camp, the warm feelings he receives when working with the Christmas Food Drive, the Nursing Home Christmas Party, and helping individuals in numerous ways, especially young people. He participates in so many projects because he believes the humanitarian focus of his efforts is an avenue to strengthen his personal faith.

Lions meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 pm. Join us at the Chandler Community Center. Call 903-849-6355 for information.
