Mary Christman Holden Garrie

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Christman Holden Garrie, 90, of Chandler, will be held Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens of Corpus Christi, with Larry Holden officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home of Chandler, Texas.

Mrs. Garrie passed away April 20, 2008 in Chandler. She was born December 01, 1917 in San Angelo, Texas.

She graduated McAllen High School in 1935, lived in Mabank for 22 years, in Tyler five years, and in Chandler one year. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mabank.

Mrs. Garrie was a retired civil service supervior of a Naval base in Corpus Christi, was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, lifetime member and first woman supervisor of Association of Supervisors, Federal Government, and Cedar Creek Lake Women's Club.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Dewey O. Garrie; parents, Albert Herschell and Phoebe Cordelia Sargent Holden; brothers, Dawson, Leonard, Loyed, Halley and Marshall Holden; sisters, Thelma Holden Clemmer and Louise Holden Mims.
