Brownsboro athletes compete at Regional track & field meet

Athletes from Class 3A, Region II high schools took part in the Regional Track and Field meet last Friday and Saturday at Texas A&M Commerce.

Brownsboro had four individuals competing in the meet and a two relay teams.

After winning the District 14-3A 200 meter dash Collin Wilson earned a spot in the regional event.

Wilson's prelim time of 23.03 in the 200-meter earned ninth place in the event. He missed qualifying for the fi- nals by .10. The winner of the 200-meter was Kelvin Horsley from Atlanta with a time of 22.20.

Brownsboro's boy 400- meter relay team finished the prelims with a time of 45.51 not qualifying for the finals. The relay team consisted of Garrett Bragg, Tristian Warren, Jose Hernandez and OT Moore.

Several personal records were set for the Brownsboro girls in the two day event.

Karla Robles set a personal record in the long jump with a jump of 15'7" and in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.24. She did not reach the finals.

Abigail Hernandez set personal records in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:01.87 and in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:55.47.

Tiffany Hurd tied a personal record in the high jump with a jump of 5'0".

The Bearettes 400-meter relay team consisting of Robles, Amber Strickland, Desiree Johnson and Synola Harmon earned a prelim time of 53.08. They did not qualify for the finals.
