Parsell leds team with a 1.58 ERA Senior Keaton Parsell improved on the mound throughout the entire 2008 baseball season. In his last game against Athens the 6'4" righty pitched a complete game, three hit shutout for the win. The shutout was the second of the season for Brownsboro. Prior to dominating Athens, Parsell picked up a save against the District 14-3A champion Bullard Panthers after allowing just one unearned run in a 2-1 victory in Canton. Parsell appeared in 12 games for the Bears this season pitching over sixty innings. He completed eight games to finish the season with a 6-3 record and three saves. He struck out 104 batters, allowed 36 hits and had two one-hitters. He led the team in earned run average at 1.58. Brownsboro defeated Palestine Westwood to start the season before dropping six games. The Bears rallied to win ten of their last fifteen games to clinch a playoff spot. Brownsboro defeated Paris, Crandall, Palestine, Chapel Hill (2), Canton (2), Athens (2) and Bullard. The Bears ended the regular season riding a four game winning streak. At the plate the Bears were led in offense by Ryan Epperson and Brad McDonald. Epperson led the team in batting average (.426), slugging percentage (.745) and tied for the lead in homeruns with three. Parsell also had three homeruns. McDonald was an all around threat for the Bears as he batted .406 (.333 with runners in scoring position) stole 11 bases and turned six double plays. He led the team in hits (28), doubles (14) and runs (23). Senior Collin Wilson led the Bears in stolen bases (12) and singles (18). He batted .313 with 21 hits.
