Wash me, Holy Spirit by the water of the Word,
Wash me, Holy Spirit by the water of the Word.
Oh, cleanse me of all the worldly things I've heard.
Wash me, Holy Spirit by the water of the Word.
Teach me, Holy Spirit what it is I need to know.
Teach me, Holy Spirit what it is I need to know.
Fill me with the knowledge of how I am to grow,
Teach me, Holy Spirit what it is I need to know.
Guide me, Holy Spirit, lead me so I don't go astray.
Guide me, Holy Spirit, lead me so I don't go astray.
Lead me in the pathway of the straight and narrow
way.
Wash me, teach me, guide me, Holy Spirit so I don't
go astray. Song by Thomas Howard The Dust of the Road of Experience
As some women trod along
through the ruts in the road of life,
and as they took each step of the way,
the dust of the rugged roads trod
clung to their skirt's hems
and their barefeet and ankles.
This is the dust of experience,
of problems left behind,
and of expectations to be found ahead.
Those pioneer women were too busy walking
to put much value in the dust that collected on them,
that was left behind as they made their way
step-by-step West to a new land
and to their new life. by Linda Amos THE SUNSET
Gold sun from above,
Setting down gently to the earth.
We will watch it all the time,
Me and Daddy, side by side. by Trinity and Buster Desselles
