Brownsboro F.U.M.C. Thanks from the Elliotts Ernest and I would like to thank Calvary Baptist Church for hosting a wonderful retirement dinner for us. There was a large crowd there from many fellow churches and an incredible assortment of foods. We are blessed to have so many friends here in Brownsboro. As Bro. Bill said, it doesn't matter what sign sets in front of your church but whether you have a personal relationship with Christ. We are going to miss our friends here and want you all to know we would love to see you in Texarkana and you're always welcome in our home. Before we leave, our address and phone number will be available. I'll have to admit we have been pastors for so long it's going to be strange being church members. We have learned that church members can make or break a church. If you work together for the good of the whole, the Church can be a lighthouse for God. But if you have your own agenda, it serves no purpose but to destroy God's house. We also know that no matter how big or small your church body is, there are always those with their own agenda. We have seen Satan use wonderful people to destroy a church by convincing them they are right and everyone else is wrong. On the reverse of that, if you allow the church to be torn apart by not standing up for God, then Satan has used you too. Stand behind your pastor and love him and his family. Trust me, being one is not easy. It's a rewarding and wonderful job that we will miss, but we know God has opened this door for a reason. We also know those he has called never really retire, just change their location of service. So pray for us and we will do you the same favor. God bless |
