Naomi Lackey McKeever

Services for Naomi Lackey McKeever, 89, of Chandler are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008 in the Chapel at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tyler, Texas, with Bro. John Baker officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tyler.

Mrs. McKeever passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 in Chandler.

She was born January 12, 1919 in Grayson County, Texas to Bethel and Lula Manuel Lackey.

She was a member of the University Church of Christ of Tyler. She was a people person who enjoyed working with her church, working with mission programs, visiting the sick and working at a mission in Arlington, that in turn sent relief items to foreign countries. She also worked as bookkeeper for Kidd Jones in Chandler and later as clerk at Ellis-Tucker Store in Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. McKeever, brother, J.T. Lackey and sister, Betty Jean Oldham.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bennie and Martha McKeever and Joe and Linda McKeever, all of Chandler; sister, Olene Rabeck of Arlington; brother, Royce Lackey of Longview; 6 grandchildren, Brent McKeever of Chandler, Bryan McKeever of Brownsboro, Debbie Duffield of Longview, Susan Higgins of Tyler, Cynthia Allen of Lindale, and Mark McKeever of West, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers: Brent McKeever, Rusty Duffield, Bryan McKeever, Billy Higgins, J.T. Lackey, Jr., and Rick Allen.

Family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Hospice Care at 516 Hwy 31 E. Chandler, TX 75758.
