Heavy showers lead to several accidents Tuesday
By Nathan Straus News Reporter

Nathan Straus Photo A Chevrolet Tahoe flipped onto its side on North FM 314 just past the railroad tracks during heavy rainfall. No injuries were reported.
A 2001 white Chevrolet Tahoe slid out of control on FM 314 just a few yards north of where the road intersects Highway 31. The southbound vehicle went off the road due to the vehicle moving too fast on the rain-soaked roads Tuesday and ended up sideways in the ditch. No injuries were reported between the 16-year-old Van driver and her 15-year-old sister, who was a passenger. The vehicle itself showed little to no damage. The accident occurred at about 1:50 pm, and the road was cleared at 2:30. Brownsboro Volunteer Fire Department firefighters responded to the call.

There were more accidents Tuesday afternoon; three separate accidents occurred in Chandler.

The first happened on FM 315 near Winchester Park at 12:15 pm. A northbound vehicle spun out of control and entered the ditch. No transport to emergency services was requested for the driver.

The second happened only 10 minutes later. It was caused when one car failed to yield right of way at a stop sign for another car. No transport was requested for all involved.

The third wreck happened close to the location of the first; south of where FM 315 curves at Winchester Park. A northbound and southbound vehicle collided on the wet roads when one vehicle lost control. The driver of one vehicle was taken to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler for treatment, the driver of the second vehicle declined transport. There were only drivers present in both vehicles.

No citations were issued for these accidents.
