ESD board formed

The Henderson County Commissioners' Court appointed five initial commissioners to the board of the Emergency Services District Number 5, the ESD covering the Brownsboro Independent School District area. This decision came as part of the court's weekly meeting on Tuesday.

Precinct three commissioner Ronny Lawrence requested appointing Leroy Chambers, James Palady, Calvin Morris, Dan Scott and Ben Bearden to the board. This was approved by the court.

The court also appointed Mary Adams of Trinidad to the Henderson County Child Welfare Board.

Up to $1,032.13 in reimbursement from Star Harbor city was accepted by the court. The reimbursement was for bridge materials in accordance with a three year interlocal agreement approved on January 23, 2006.

In a pair of decisions aimed at making open records more accessible, the court approved contracts with NetData and Tyler Technologies.

NetData will provide internet access to view tax records and the ability to pay for the service online, while Tyler Technologies was contracted for judicial web browser software and internet access.

There were no jail expanseparate bids approved.

The first, bid 19-08, was for road oil and liquid asphalt. It was awarded to Bryan and Bryan, Cleveland Asphalt, P2 Emulsions, Roadbond Service Co. and R and D Services.

Bid 20-08, for prime coat, seal coat and rock, was awarded to Cleveland Asphalt, Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions and P2 Emulsions.

The final bid, bid 21-08 for road and base materials, was awarded to S and S Trucking, East Texas Crush Rock (primary on iron ore, pickup only) and Armor Materials.
