Rudy Wood

Services for Mr. Rudy Gleen Wood were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Hilliard Funeral Home, Van, with the Rev. Shelby Davidson officiating. Burial was in Edom Cemetery.

Mr. Wood passed away June 14, 2008, at the age of 59.

Rudy was born April 26, 1949, in Edom, Texas, to the late Don Rudolph Wood and Bonnie Ruth Clemmons Wood. He had been a resident of Edom all of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Tree Town USA, and also worked for the Pallet Place in Van. He loved to ride horses, farm and raise cattle.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Geneva "Molly" Wood of Edom; two daughters and sons-in-law, Misty and John Dent of Murchison, and Brandy and Curtis Peyton of Edom; three brothers, Ronny Wood, Eddie Wood and Mark Wood, all of Edom; and two grandchildren, Kailey Dent and Braiden Cole Peyton.

Pallbearers were Dennis Nipp, Boone Nipp, Dennis Gandy, William Treadwell, Jerrod Smith, Glen Lewis, Pete White and Danny White. Employees of Tree Town USA and Pallet Place will serve as honorary pallbearers.
