Brownsboro pizza lovers are already familiar with Kay McMillan, owner of the Brownsboro Pizza Pro on Highway 31.
McMillan has owned the restaurant/ movie rental store for three years, and already has built up a taste for taking care of her customers. Kay originally got into the pizza business because she wanted to have a business in Brownsboro.
"I like running the business," McMillan said. "Movies and pizza go together hand-inhand. "
An East Texas native, Kay moved to the area five years ago. She is originally from Tyler.
"I moved over here because I like the area and I like the people," McMillan said. "I love this community."
Kay is married to her husband of 36 or so years, Lynn McMillan. They have two grown children: Coleen Compton and Steven McMillan. There are four grandchildren as well, each with a name that begins with "L": Landon, Logan, Lani and Lance.
She is dedicated to her business and her family, and Pizza Pro puts her on the job seven days a week, where Kay works to make the fresh pizza she will sell to hungry customers.
When she's not on the job it's time for cooking of a different sort, often for grandchildren who have come to call on their grandmother for a tasty meal.
"I love cooking for my grandkids," McMillan said. "They love eating more than anyone else does."
