Edom Bakery and Grill is looking for a Guest Chef every Wednesday night through September. The Bakery will provide 5 X 7 cards on which to submit a favorite recipe. Drop it into the fishbowl at the bakery and, if selected, the recipe donor will be the guest chef with the recipe becoming the Wednesday night special.

Advertisements for the 2008-2009 football program are on sale. The deadline for a business ad is July 18, while the deadline for personal ads is August 11.

Edom Fourth of July "Celebrate America" Patriotic Program. Starts at 6 pm at the Edom Civic Theatre. Reservations are free. There will be speaking and singing by Andrew Sisters about an hour before the fireworks start.

The Texas Reading Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary this summer. The Reading Club is sponsored by the Texas State Library and the Chandler Public Library. Programs for this summer include two guest storytellers from the Dallas area, the Creature Teacher and a surprise guest at the final story-time on July 24.

Storytime at the Chandler Library for preschool - 3rd grade will be every Thursday. There will also be a special Saturday morning program for 4th - 7th grade readers. Starting time for this group is also 9:30 am.
