Kenneth Kay Kennard

Services for Mr. Kenneth Kay Kennard, 74, of Chandler, were held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Dennis Harvey officiated.

Burial was in Concord Cemetery, Chandler, with military honors, under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Kennard passed away July 1, 2008 in Tyler, Texas. He was born December 16, 1933 in Whitewater, Kansas.

He had lived in the Chandler area for 24 years, moving from Hutchison, Kansas. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a construction supervisor. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Regina Kennard and brother, Norman Kennard.

Survivors include son, Carlton W. Kennard of Pittsburg, Kansas; daughter, Kimberly K. Kennard of Pittsburg, Kansas; brother, Harold Kennard, Winfield, Kansas; sisters, Elanor Bernhardt of Wichita, Kansas and Marion Egbert of Maize, Kansas; beloved companion, Frankie St. Romain of Chandler, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Ray Lee, Keith Cronister, Gary Jones, John Benge, Ricky Marshall and Zachery Wilson.
