Edith Jones Ellison

Services for Edith Jones Ellison, 90, Ben Wheeler were held Saturday at Eubank Funeral Home chapel, Canton, with Bro. Mike Calhoun officiating.

Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton.

Mrs. Ellison died October 22, 2008, in Tyler.

She was born June 13, 1918, in Shelby County to the late Jack Lawerence and Nettie Weir Kyle. She worked at General Electric in Tyler for 19 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Van, Fine Arts Club, Red Hat Club, Free State RV Club and Rose City Sam's Club. She lived in Chillicothe prior to moving to Ben Wheeler in 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Jones, and stepson, Vernon Charles Ellison, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Ellison, Ben Wheeler; son, Jackie M. Jones, Ben Wheeler; stepdaughters, Patricia Williams, Canton, and Tracey Wright, Plano; stepson, Doug Mark, Sachse; brother, Ottis W. Kyle, Houston; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
