Leagueville Baptist
We hope that you have had a great start to this New Year. We had lots of visitors this Sunday morning. Bro. Tom introduced the topic of this year's theme to us. Our theme this year will be "More Than Conquerors. " Bro. Tom always puts lots of thought and prayer into the theme and I know that this year God will give us new insights through this theme. It is exciting to start a new year knowing that God will be faithful this year just as He has been in the past.
We will be having a missionary, Bro. David Holland, January 11. He will be speaking during the evening service. Bro. Holland is a missionary to Papua, New Guinea. We invite you to come and learn about his burden for the people of New Guinea.
Each Monday evening we have The Call to Recovery meetings at 7pm. This is a Bible-based program for overcoming addictions. We invite everyone to attend and learn more about this growing ministry of LBC. There is also a meal served from 5-6:30pm each Monday evening and this is open to the public. We invite you to come and share a meal before the meeting.
LBC also has started another new program, "Baking Bread." This program serves a meal each Monday evening and the first Saturday of each month. Both of these meals are open to the public and are served in the gymnasium.
For more information, please call the church office. If you are interested in helping with this program, please see Mary Lou Jennings. She will be happy to help you.
Women Encouraging Women will be Tuesday, January 13th at 6:30pm. This is a group of women who meet each month to fellowship while learning more about God's Word. We invite all women to attend. You will be blessed.
LBC will be welcoming Barbara Fairchild, recording artist from Nashville, on January 14th at 7pm. We will be taking up a Love Offering for her. Please make plans to attend this event.
The GoodTimers will be having a "Welcoming in 2009" meal Thursday, January 15th at 6pm in the gymnasium. Please bring peas, beans and the trimmings to share. This is a fun group and you will be welcome!
