It was good to see Carla Fisher back in church on Sunday. She still wasn't feeling back to normal, but she is getting better.

Also, Martha Different was feeling better and back, also.

Joyce Martin was home with whatever is going around. She is trying to feel better to get ready for her 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration this Saturday. It starts at 2 PM at the church with a renewal of vows.

Congratulations to John and Debbie Morris. They celebrated their anniversary last Saturday by taking a trip to Kilgore for some ribs. Rev. Prather and Rebecca joined them for the celebration.

Herb and Dorothy Botts are still home sick. We pray they will be feeling better soon.

Actually, on Sunday, it looked like a lot of people were sick. There were a lot of missing faces at the service. It must be that time of year again.

Gail Johnston has announced that a musical jam session is starting. The first get-together was this last Monday at 7 PM. It's just so anyone can come together and sing, play instruments and generally

have a good time with music.

Next Sunday will be the covered dish dinner after church, but Angela Martin also announced that for those who want barbecue, the Boy Scouts are having their annual fundraiser up at Chandler First UMC after their church service. It looks like plenty of food will be available to everyone next week.

The Southern Angels will be reforming soon. For more information on that, contact Diane Kelder.

The linen drive by the UMW is going well. They could still use more sheets, blankets and towels, though.

On Saturday, several members of the church will be going to Lane's Chapel for the Transforming Church seminar led by Stan Copeland. It starts at 10 AM and lunch will be served. There is a charge of $10 for this, so contact Rev. Prather if you wish to attend.

The new church website is up and running. For those who want to keep up with what's going on, you can go to www.lakepalestineumc.com A special thanks goes to all who have worked so hard on that.
