*On January 27, 2009, Henderson County Drug Unit Investigator Kenneth Collard stopped a GMC pickup for failure to signal required distance at the 1000 block of West Main. The vehicle came to a stop at the 100 block of Oak Harbor Drive where Investigator Collard observed the passenger, identified as Christopher Michael Morgan, W/M, 25, from Gun Barrel City, making furtive movements as if he was trying to conceal something behind his seat.
Investigator Collard received consent to search the vehicle from the driver and located a quantity of methamphetamine in a small container from behind the seat of Morgan.
Morgan was read his Miranda warning at which time he advised that the container and its contents be- longed to him. Morgan was placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance penalty group 1 <1 gram. The driver was not charged and released at the scene. Bond had not been set at this time.
Assisting agency/officers were Henderson County Sheriff 's Deputy Kyle Pochobradsky and Gun Barrel City Police Officer Ken Bee.
* On January 28, 2009, Henderson County Drug Enforcement Investigators Jody Miller, Kenny Collard and Ronny Halbert received information of a possible methamphetamine lab at a residence on Deer Walk Street in Gun Barrel City. Upon receiving this information and after further investigation investigators went to the residence along with Gun Barrel City Police Sgt. Patrick Johnson to investigate the allegations.
Upon arrival to the area, investigators learned that the methamphetamine lab had been moved to another resi
dence on Deer Walk. It was also advised that the suspect(s)' in this case, two small children, a two-yearold male and four-year-old female, were found walking down the street barely clothed earlier on this date, and were at a neighbor's house who had taken them in from the cold.
Investigators then went to the other residence where the suspect(s) were residing. During the investigation, investigators located chemicals and items used to manufacture methamphetamine, including ammonia in an unapproved cylinder.
At this time, the mother of the children, Alicia Johns, W/F, 24, was placed under arrest charged with endangering a child. The items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine are still being investigated with other arrests probable in the offense. Investigators contacted child protective services who responded and removed the children from the residence.
* On Friday, January 23, 2009, Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit Investigator Ronny Halbert conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Seven Points, Texas. Investigator Halbert obtained consent to search the vehicle and located a quantity of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle Moreno, Stephen, W/M, 36, was arrested and transported to Henderson County Justice Center charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Pgl. <1 gram. Moreno posted a $10,500.00 bond set by Justice of the Peace Precinct No. 4 Sue Tarrant.
* On January 26, 2009, Henderson County Drug Engorcement Investigators Jody Miller and Ronny Halbert went to the home of Terry Bevill on Robert Drive in the city of Seven Points, Texas, to serve arrest warrants on Terry Bevill, W/ M, 45, who was wanted on outstanding warrants out of Gun Barrel City, Texas. Upon arrival to the residence, investigators took Bevill into custody for the outstanding warrants.
While at the residence, investigators obtained consent from Terry Bevill to search the residence for narcotics. Bevill had been under investigation by the Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit for manufacturing and distribution of methamphetamine around the Cedar Creek Lake area.
During a search of the residence, investigators located an unapproved cylinder containing anhydrous ammonia which is a precursor in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Investigators also located a quantity of methamphetamine at the residence. Both Terry Bevill and Marnette Adams, W/F, 20, who was staying at the residence with Bevill, were transported to the Henderson County Jail. Bevill was charged with possession of controlled substance PG1 under 1 gram and possession / transport anhydrous ammonia and Marnette Adams was charged with possession of controlled substance PG1 under 1 gram.
Investigators were assisted in the investigation at the Bevill residence by Henderson County Drug Enforcement Investigator Kenneth Collard and Henderson County Sheriff 's Department Deputy Kyle Pochobradsky.
