The Bears and the Bearettes posted defeats in Fairfield on Jan. 30th, with the boys losing by 18 and the girls by 15.

It was a case of opposites for the two teams. The Bears saw the second and third quarters put them in a hole, while the Bearettes fell prey to first and fourth quarter blues.

Junior wing Chelsea Chambers led Bearettes scoring with 12 points as Brownsboro fell to the the Lady Eagles.

The final score was of 60-45 in action last Friday.

Naomi Scott added 10 points for Brownsboro as the 5-5 wing helped balance the scoring.

Others on the board for the Bearettes included: seniors Sabrina Bradley and Lcandace Bell with 7 points each; and freshman LaQuesha Cooper, sophomore Hillary Shaffer and junior Synola Harmon with 3 points each.

The Bearettes fell behind by 10 after the first period of play, then played the Lady Eagles even through the second and third periods. Brownsboro was down 9 points after three. Fairfield put the game away in the final stanza with a 13- 7 run to post the final margin of 15.

Ryan Smith and Jacob McCarthy each scored 9 points to pace the Bears during the Jan. 30th game, but Brownsboro was unable to overcame a second and third period where they were outscored by 17 points.

The Bears opened the game by finishing the first period up two before the two-period lull set in.

The Eagles outscored Brownsboro 20-17 in the fourth to put up the final score of 56-38.

Other Bears lighting the scoreboard included: Adam Dingler and Tristan Warren with 5 points each; Tyler Rogers and Zack Bailey with 4 points each; Kyle Price with three points; and Bret Ralson and Seth Martin with 2 points each.
