BJH squads split with opponents

Both Brownsboro ISD junior high B squads posted wins Thursday, Jan. 29, in games as they hosted the Crockett Bulldogs and Athens Christian Academy.

Both of the A squads were defeated in action held the same day.

The eighth grade Brownsboro B squad earned a 20-point win, 33-13 over Crockett.

Jacob Ludford led all scorers with 10 points. Other Bears on the scoreboard were: Ramirez with 9 points; Dotson and Elder with 3 points each; and Sherman, Chambers, Bynum and Gutierrez with 2 points each.

The seventh grade Browsboro Bears B unit took a 49-10 win over Athens on the BISD campus.

Bears scoring in the game were: Woods, Lemons, and Hall with 6 points each; James and Mandeville with 10; Parker, 3 points; and Essary, Compton, Jackson and Taylor with 2 points each..

The Bears seventh grade A squad fell in a close, 43-39 loss, battling to the end.

Tyler Thomison led all scores with 14 points in the loss. Other Bears scoring points were: Bragdon with 9 points; Houston and Davis with 6 points each; and McKenzie and Cook with 2 points each.

The two A squads took the losses during the contests last week.

The eighth grade A team fell to the Crockett Bulldogs by a count of 60-41.

Davonte Givens led all scorers for the game, totaling 24 points along with 10 rebounds.

Other scorers included: Ralston with 8 points; Bealle, 3 points; and Chapman, McCarthy and Gutierrez with 2 points each.
