The Browsboro Bears and Bearettes both used second quarter runs coupled with stout defensive play to break open their contests against their Palestine counterparts during Tuesday, Feb. 3rd action. The Bearettes began with the opening of the second quarter, starting a 21-0 run of unanswered points that stretched until the 4:41 mark of the third period. More ... Still trying to get organized. That's always the issue when it comes to covering high school sports in the Spring each year. Football is easy to cover. Got a game on Friday night. Spend the rest of the week writing a game story and maybe a couple of others ... like one on the key drive of the game, another on a particular athlete's career-best performance in that game. More ... Eight local athletes finished in the top five during the Van Vandal Invitational powerlifting meet held Saturday, Feb. 7th in Van.
