The big event at the church this past weekend was Bill and Joyce Martin's 50th wedding celebration. Their children and families did a great job of decorating the church. One of their sons officiated at their vow renewal and Joyce and Bill even wrote their own poems to share with each other.

On the same day, several members of the church attended the Transforming Church seminar at Lane's Chapel in Tyler. Dr. Stan Copeland did a great job in his preaching. Several Bible studies will be formed from this.

The church is also excited that two performances of the Easter Passion Play will be performed at the amphitheater on the lake. There will be four performances this year with the other two being at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chandler. The LPUMC members are already talking about set building and costuming. It should be a lot of fun. Even more cast members are needed.

Several of the ladies of the church are looking forward to the re-start of the Transforming Angels.

The Hitts, the Simons and Kaethe Griffin took a trip to Gladewater last Saturday to listen to the opry. They all had a great time.

It was good to see that Lillian Stegall has returned from her stay in the Caribbean Islands. She does have to make a quick trip to Mississippi in the near future though.

Herb and Dorothy Botts are feeling better, but there are still several people in the church who are home sick.

It was wonderful to have the new church projector installed this past Sunday. Everything is so much clearer now.

Jim and Sherry Morton have donated some beautiful gift baskets to the church. There is currently a silent auction going on for them at the back of the sanctuary. As Jim pointed out, they would make some great Valentine's gifts.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, that's this Saturday, and the Methodist Men are hosting a Valentine's breakfast for the ladies of the church at 9 AM. They seem very excited about it, so ladies, come out and have a lot of fun.

Finally, the church is very grateful for a gift which will allow us to improve and extend some of the roadways around the church and amphitheater. A very big thank you goes to the donor(s).

We won't have to drive over the potholes anymore.
