Courtesy Photos Courtesy Photos Tuesday, February 3rd, the three Brownsboro FCCLA Healthy Heroes, Dannielle Johnson, Danielle Bynum and Kaesey Watters, arrived at Brownsboro Elementary in full superhero costume to put on a program for First Grade.

After a puppet show encouraging healthy snack choices, the Healthy Heroes spoke to the young students challenging them to become Healthy Heroes too, by trying to make better food choices. They passed out a brochure and a pledge card that the three Brownsboro High School students had designed and written themselves. The brochure includes a word search of healthy foods, a color page and nutritional recipes.

The three Healthy Heroes are not finished with their fight against this dastardly foe - an enemy that robs children of good health, long life and self esteem. In their plans is a web page linked to the Brownsboro ISD web site, recognition of elementary students as Healthy Heroes of the week, additional class presentations, a teachers' curriculum teaching good nutrition practices, teaching lessons including preparing a healthy snack in elementary classrooms and developing state and federal contacts that would hopefully gain their project state and national attention.

These students started this as a project for competition in the FCCLA Star Events. They did place second at Regional competition and are now slated for State competition in April and if successful there, would then be headed to Nashville, Tenn. for National competition. But, what started as a project has become a personal passion for these three examples of the excellent students at Brownsboro High School. They truly are Super Heroes!
