Services for Artie Fayrene Hatton Dobson, 90, Grapevine, formerly of the Opelika Community, were held Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Thomas officiating. Burial followed in Red Hill Cemetery, Murchison.

Mrs. Dobson died February 4, 2009 in Grapevine.

She was born October 27, 1918 in Murchison to the late Joe Bonnie and Threcie Adeline Malone Hatton. Following graduation from Brownsboro High School, Fayrene moved to Dallas to seek a career. She worked many years for Fine Arts and Sterling Silver in direct sales. She married William Walter Dobson, May 9, 1943. She was a longtime member of Cockrell Hill Baptist Church in Dallas.

Fayrene was preceded in death by her husband Walter, February 17, 2007; brothers, Otto, Herman, Herbert, Lee, A.C., Charles; and a sister, Gertie Poynor.

Survivors include a son, Edward Lee Dobson and wife Teresa, Grapevine; grandson, Aaron Travis Dobson, Fairfax, Va.; brother, Fred Hatton, Murchison; sisters, Bonnie Jo Henrikson, Murchison, Cleo Brand, Brownsboro; numerous nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were Danny Jackson, Greg Jackson, Preston Moore, Dennis Brand, Euris Hatton, and Richard Crawford.
