Sheriff's Report
On Tuesday, February 23, Henderson County Sheriff 's Deputy Kevin Adair responded to a call of the sexual assault of a 15-month-old child near the Oak Harbor Addition of Gun Barrel City.
Henderson County Investigators Ceresa Ballard and Bryan Tower obtained information that during the morning hours of February 23, an 18-yearold Gun Barrel City man, identified as Austin Kirk Morris, had sexually assaulted a 15-month-old child and a 5-year-old child.
Henderson County Investigator Bryan Tower presented an arrest warrant affidavit to Justice of the Peace Pct. 6 Judge Milton Adams. Adams issued a warrant for the arrest of Austin Morris for the Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child (a 1st degree felony).

On Monday, March 9, 2009, an arrest was made of Jerry Don Wilson of Eustace. Wilson was being sought by the Henderson County Sheriff 's Office for a 1st Degree Felony warrant for Sex Offenders Duty to Register Life/ 90 days w/Previous Conviction.
At approximately 3:40pm, Warrant Deputy Billy Valentine and Sex Offender Registrar Deputy Jannell Dunnington made contact with Wilson's wife requesting information of Wilson's whereabouts when Wilson was observed running from a parked car by a stock pond in the back of the property toward a wooded area. Deputies secured a perimeter around the area and requested the assistance of the TDCJ tracking dogs. After tracking Wilson for over a mile through the wooded area, Wilson was apprehended at approximately 5:30pm. Wilson was booked into the Henderson County Jail for the following charges:
* Sex Offenders Duty to Register Life/90 Days W/Previous Conviction - 1st Degree Felony
* Fleeing A Police Officer - Class B
* Capias Pro Fine (DWLI w/previous conviction) Class C fine only
* Probation Violation out of Dallas County for Sex Offenders Duty to Register Life/90 Days - 2nd Degree Felony
Wilson's duty to register stems from 3 Indecency With a Child by Contact and 1 Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child previous convictions.
Wilson's wife, Katie Wiggins, was arrested for Hindering Apprehension/ Prosecution of a Felon.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Texas Department of Corrections, Texas Game Warden, Eustace Police Department, Gun Barrel City Police Deartment, Mabank Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
