St. Boniface Catholic
On the Fourth Sunday of Lent at the Saturday Vigil Mass, members of St. Boniface heard the best known scripture verse from John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life."
In his homily, Fr. Luke asked, "What is a Christian? " "What is a believer? " "Are we saved by our own merit?" By the freely given gift of grace you have been saved! What prompted God to give us that grace? Simply love. Love permitted Him to send His Son. God inspired by compassion and love for those who had fallen and those who were lost, sent His Son. What then, is faith? It is more than simply reciting the words of the Creed of our church. Real faith comes from not only our heads but also from our hearts. Grace is consistently being given to us but we must be open vessels to receive and accept it. By Baptism you are saved, but you must keep accepting Him ... that is the way to Salvation. We live in darkness and Jesus is the Light!
The Ladies of the Altar Society have put together some very beautiful Easter Baskets. There are many to choose from and none is priced more than $10. Proceeds from the sale of these baskets will help the Altar Society help the Parish! Baskets will be sold following the weekend Masses while they last!
Don't forget The Passion Play performances on March 28th and 29th at 7:30pm here at St. Boniface. There is no cost for admission, however donations will be accepted. Additional performances will be April 4th and 5th at the United Methodist Church on the Lake.
Stations of the Cross are at 6:30 pm on Fridays during Lent following the 6:00 pm Mass. Please remember that each Friday of Lent is a day of Abstinence.
Congratulations to those Altar Servers who were commissioned during the Sunday 9:30 Mass. May God bless you! Thank you for your contribution to the Liturgy. A special, heartfelt thank-you goes to Raul and Tracy DeLaGarza who have worked with these Altar Servers. We appreciated ALL that you do for our Parish and our youth.

Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. We pray for those who are sick and suffering that they may find healing in Christ. We remember in prayer those who have gone to their eternal rest; may the perpetual Light of Christ shine on them. Remember, too, the brave men and women who are serving our great nation in the Armed Services. We ask our Lord, Jesus Christ to keep them safe.
Have a blessed week!
