KCB Great American Cleanup hits on April 4

It's that time of year again to clean out your closets and garages and bring all of your trash to Keep Chandler Beautiful's annual participation in The Great American Cleanup. This year's date will be Saturday, April 4th, which is the date that Keep Texas Beautiful has dedicated as the clean-up day for its affiliates across the state.

Citizens from Chandler and the surrounding area are invited to bring items that are normally not allowed to be disposed of by sanitation services such as heavy metal items and large furniture.

The only items not accepted are kitchen garbage, batteries, paint cans, tires and electronic equipment.

Appliances are allowed but must have any coils removed from them first.

Rick Ford, President of KCB, said they have seen a little bit of everything over the ten years they have participated in the clean-up, even an old wrecked car and a fiberglass boat.

Due to the increased volume of vehicles last year bringing their trash, the location this year has been moved from the Henderson County Annex just down the road to the north parking lot of Winchester Park.

Sanitation Solutions is again providing four large dumpsters for the refuse and Henderson County will be supplying a backhoe to assist. Last year over 65,000 pounds of trash were collected and disposed of.

Hours for the cleanup this year are from 8:30am till 1:00pm. Volunteers will also be out on the City's streets collecting trash.

Come on down and join in on a great beautification effort for the community.
