On Tuesday, March 31, 2009, Special Deputy John Daniels was attempting to make a traffic stop in Brownsboro. The driver of the vehicle evaded Officer Daniels in his vehicle. After a short while, the driver of the vehicle pulled into a residence on Horton Street in Brownsboro. The driver was attempting to get inside this residence when Daniels ordered him to stop.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Johnnie King, W/ M, who lives at this residence. King was placed under arrest for evading arrest detention. The vehicle was searched incident to arrest where a quantity of methamphetamine was located. King was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 under one gram. Both charges are a State Jail Felony. Johnnie King was released from jail on March 31, 2009 after posting $10,500.00 bonds. Also arrested was Colby Wall, W/M, 30 years of age, who was inside King's residence. Wall was arrested for two Probation Violation warrants out of Anderson County. Wall is currently in jail on these warrants.

On April 1, 2009 at approximately 1:03 am, Henderson County Deputies Ray Yockey and Cliff Arnold responded to a shooting call off of CR 3508 in the Murchison area. Upon arrival deputies located Eric John Hatton, W/M, 31 years of age, inside a residence with a single gunshot wound to his leg.

HCSO Investigator Bryan Tower was called to the scene and it was determined that Hatton was shot by his father, 74-year-old Freddie Hatton, following a disturbance at the residence. Deputies recovered a .44 magnum caliber handgun that was used in the offense. It was determined that Eric Hatton was at the location in violation of a protective order signed by Judge David Holstein in July of 2008. Eric Hatton was transported to ETMC Athens by ambulance and is in stable condition. No arrests were made at the scene and the investigation is ongoing. Officers responding in this incident were Deputy Ray Yockey, Deputy Cliff Arnold, Investigator Bryan Tower, Lt. Botie Hillhouse, Chief.

On Sunday, April 5, 2009, Henderson County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to a burglary in progress on Lake Front Rd, Mabank, Texas. Henderson County Deputy Josh Rickman responded to the residence and began the investigation. A witness gave Deputy Rickman a detailed description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving. A short time later Deputy Rickman located the suspect vehicle traveling North on Hwy 198 where he conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the occupants were identified as James Allen Harrington, 28 years of age, and Thomas Paul Harrington, 23 years of age. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of the property stolen in the burglary. James Allen Harrington was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building and transported to the Henderson County Jail where he is awaiting arraignment. There could be more arrests to come pending further investigation. Assisting agency/officers was the Payne Springs Police Department.

Also on Sunday, April 5, 2009, Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit Investigators Ronny Halbert, David Faught, Kenneth Collard and Darrell Waller executed a narcotics search warrant in Royal Oaks Addition located in Tool, Texas issued by Henderson County Justice of the Peace No. 6, Milton Adams. During the search of the residence, investigators located a quantity of marijuana. Mcewin, Russel, age 20, was arrested and transported to Henderson County Justice Center charged with Possession of Marijuana over 4 ounces/under 5 pounds, a State Jail Felony. Investigators also arrested Crump, Michael at the residence on unrelated warrants. No bond has been set at this time.

District Attorney Scott McKee and District Attorney Investigators Jody Miller and Balde Quintanilla assisted in the investigation and execution of the warrant.

Lt. Botie Hillhouse, Investigator Brian Tower, Deputy Brade McGhee and Deputy Josh Rickman also assisted in executing the warrant.
