Familieswill have gathering
The descendants of the Jacob Thomas Sr. and Abel Matthew Edwards families will meet at 10 am, Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Thomas Cemetery located about 8 miles north of Athens on Hwy. 19, and 2 miles on County Road 3911 west.
Most of those interested in the cemetery are related to the families of Billy Thomas, David and Minnie Pool Benge, John and Eliza (Edwards) Frentress, D.C. "Doc" Edwards, and John Edwards.
All living descendants are invited to attend, as is everyone else who might be interested in old cemeteries.

Forest Grove POA music show
The Forest Grove P.O.A. will host its third Saturday music show at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Forest Grove Community Center in Chandler.
The featured bands include Brushy Creek Bluegrass and Hudson Switch Bluegrass.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and tickets will cost $5 for adults at the door. Children 12 and under will be free.
Concessions, including sandwiches and desserts, will be available. The session will be open to other musicians. Proceeds will be used to pay bands and fund community projects. The center is eight miles south of Chandler on F.M. 315 to Forest grove entrance No. 2, and left for a quarter of a mile.

Sparks in Park set for July 4th
Brownsboro will host "Sparks in the Park," at the Brownsboro Park Saturday, July 4.
Booth rentals for retail and/or information booths are available for $35 for a 12-foot by 12-foot booth; or $50 for a 12- foot by 24-foot booth. No electricity will be available for booths.
To rent booth space or for more information, call Roxie Holley from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (903) 849-6881.
The registration deadline will be Tuesday, June 30, and the booth set up will be scheduled for Friday, July 3.
Jennings Service set for May 17th
The Jenning's Mountain Cemetery Memorial Service will start at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17.
Tom Bragdon will be the guest speaker.
