Sheriff's Report
On May 14, 2009, Henderson County Drug Enforcement members initiated an investigation on Joey Tamojermone Givens, 33 years of age, after he was stopped on Hwy 31 near Malakoff by Lt. Botie Hillhouse and Inv. Darrell Waller. During the traffic stop deputies located a large quantity of crack cocaine in the possession of Givens.
A subsequent investigation produced probable cause and the issuance of a search warrant which was obtained from Judge Carter Tarrance for Givens' apartment at the Wheeler Apartments in Malakoff. Investigators located a large quantity of cocaine inside the apartment belonging to Joey Givens. The total quantity of cocaine seized was approximately 1/ 4 pound.
Investigators from the Henderson County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit included Ronny Halbert, David Faught, Kenny Collard, and Darrell Waller. They were also assisted by Lt. Botie Hillhouse, Capt. Kay Langford, and the Henderson County District Attorney's office.
Givens is believed to be a major narcotics trafficker for the Trinidad, Malakoff and Athens area.
