Sheriff's Report

by Ray Nutt

On May 19, 2009, Henderson County Drug Enforcement unit investigators Kenny Collard and Ronny Halbert, along with Henderson County District Attorney Investigator Jody Miller, were investigating reports of illegal gambling at 424 West Cedar Creek Parkway in Seven Points, Texas.

Investigators made contact with the operator of the establishment of Larry Dewayne Prater, W/M, born March 5, 1963, and located a loaded 12-gauge shotgun in the corner. Investigators secured the weapon and records check revealed that Prater is a convicted felon. Texas law states that a convicted felon cannot be in possession of a firearm.

Prater was placed under arrest for the above listed charge and transported to Henderson County Justice Center. No bond has been set at press release time.

Two other subjects who were at the location were also arrested on outstanding warrants.
