We had great worship in both services Sunday as the group, David's Song, visited and led us in praise and worship.

Everyone enjoyed them so much that they have been invited to come back on September 27th for a concert in the amphitheater, and they are already on the schedule to perform at next year's 4th of July event.

Thank you so much, David's Song, for sharing your talent with us.

At the same time our deepest condolences go to Gail Johnston on the loss of her husband. Funeral services for Gene were held in Dallas last week. Our prayers go out to the entire family at this time of loss.

Also, Carla Fisher was not able to make it to church. We hear she broke her toe. That's got to be painful. We are praying for you to get better, Carla.

Last week, Debbie Hart was traveling to work when she was hit head-on by another car on FM 315. Fortunately, Debbie survived the crash, but her leg was broken in multiple places. She is now in rehab and will have to undergo several months of therapy.

Jack Boggs is still in the hospital. As of this writing he is having a procedure done which should help him feel better.

We were sorry to hear that Bernard Massey's sister, Maurice, has had her cancer return. We will be in prayer for her.

Bernard has also been battling a cold this week but is doing better now. He led the Romans Bible study on Sunday night.

It's good to know that Damon Massey and his entire family have now officially moved back to Texas. They are staying with Linda and Bernard until they get a little more settled.

Rev. Prather and Herb Botts have returned from the Annual Conference down in Houston last week. They said they had a really interesting and fun time. We can't wait to hear all about it.

Bob and June Hitt are going to be traveling to the Dallas area this weekend to see their granddaughter, Madlyn Duncan, graduate from high school.

Also, Ann Hargett is proud to announce that she is a grandmother. Her son and his wife have a new baby named Hudson Hawkeye Hargett. Congratulations, Ann.

This is also an exciting week for the Mortons. They left for an Alaskan cruise which was an anniversary gift from their children. It sounds like a lot of fun.

We were happy to have Ginger Adams' sister in church on Sunday. She is from Michigan and said they had over 210 inches of snow up there this year.

We are happy to see that Kaethe Griffin is back from her grandson's wedding in Germany. She said she had a wonderful time there.

The Children's Ministry coordinators met recently and have planned a funfilled summer for the kids of the church and the surrounding neighborhood. There will be weekly activities for them such as trips, games, movies, etc. Check here for updates when they start.

Angela Martin is also back after being at several Scout camps during May. She reported having a very good time at all of them.

Scott Martin is leading the committee for the 4th of July fireworks display. This year promises to be bigger than last year. Instead of just fireworks, there will also be games and refreshment booths for everyone starting in the afternoon.

One of the most anticipated events is the "42" Tournament. Part of the reason we think it will be so popular that day is that it will be held inside the airconditioned church while everything else will be outside. Once again, check the paper or church website for more details on this.

The church is starting up a softball team (or two). Anyone interested should contact the church office.
