St. Boniface Catholic
On Sunday, members of St. Boniface Catholic Church celebrated the Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity. The Trinity remains a mystery - it is difficult to understand. Fr. Luke spoke of St. Augustine in a moment of reflection on the Trinity while walking near the sea. St. Augustine happened across a young boy filling a hole with one seashell full of water at a time. When asked what he was doing, the young boy explained only to be met with consternation from St. Augustine. He was quick to point out that the task the youth had taken on was impossible! The child simply answered that the task (of trying to figure out the Holy Trinity) would be impossible for St. Augustine!
In his homily, Fr. Luke made reference to a popular book, The Shack in which the story's main character is invited to have dinner with the Trinity. He couldn't help but wonder what the blessing before the meal would be like! "I love you!" said the Father to the Son and the Son to the Spirit. Love. It is what brings the three persons of God together. How is it possible? Through love they are one. What is God? God is Love! We are all `particles' of that great love. God created us to love. It is that love that should bring us all together. Only the power of evil can separate us from that love. Then, our lives would be meaningless. The Holy Trinity inspires to love one another. Let not the relationship be broken.
Visitors and guests joined us for refreshments and fellowship in the community room following Mass.
At the noon Mass a special blessing was given to our 2009 graduates. May God bless Osvalso Gomez, Ramon Duran, Rosa Aguilar, Jessica Rojas, and Martin Gomez.
Attention youth: An endof year day of fun is planned for June 13th from 11am- 3pm, at the Maldonado's home for all children and youth who attended Faith Formations classes this year. Call Sandy Bunch with any questions.
While Faith Formation classes have ended for the year, the Sacramental Formation classes will be held through the summer. If you (children and adults) have not received the Sacraments of Communion and/or Confirmation, please see Sandy Bunch as soon as possible. The schedule is posted in the community room.
Sunday, June 14th we will celebrate the 11th Anniversary of St. Boniface Church. Festivities begin following the 10:30 Bilingual Mass in honor of St. Boniface. The day will be filled with food, games, entertainment, and fun for the whole family. See you there! (NOTE: There will be only one Mass at 10:30.)
Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. We pray for the sick and suffering among us; that they may know the comfort of Christ. We remember the souls of the faithful departed; that they may know the peace of Christ. We continue to lift up in prayer the men and women who serve our nation; may they know the protection of Christ.
Have a great week!
