County assets top $64 million
Henderson County, it seems, has a lot of assets.
At the Tuesday, June 16 meeting, county commissioners approved the 2009 Fixed Asset Report for the county. The county's assets, which includes capital assets of more than $5,000, are $64,828,255.
"This (report) is open for public review in the clerk's office," said Henderson County Judge David Holstein.
Commissioners Joe Hall, Wade McKinney and Jerry West expressed concern that a county roadway improvement has to be valued at more than $50,000 before it is included among the assets.
"It's been several years since we compiled that and it's time we look at that again," McKinney said.
In other business, commissioners also approved bids for providing road materials, including a bid from East Texas Crushed as the primary vendor for iron ore; and from S&S Trucking as the primary vendor for all other road materials and as the secondary vendor for iron ore.
Also, commissioner approved paying bills in the amount of $402,911.
