Nursing Chandler Center

by Gretta Uzzell

Residents missed Mr. Ken Morgan on the 7th, along with our special program from the Martin Springs Baptist Church.

Also on the 14th, just checking on the Banister family, give Gretta a call!

We are still working on our patio project. We now have a little over $900 toward material. If you would like to be part of this special event, please give Gretta a call at 903- 849-2485.

Our family day (fundraiser) will be on the 26th. We will be serving hamburgers, chips and soda for $5, and all proceeds will go toward our patio project.

As you know, July 11th is Sodbuster Day, and we would like to have a "shelling the corn" contest, and we are in need of corn. So if you are that special person who is willing to bring in, let's say, 14 ears of corn, unshelled, please call Gretta at 903- 849-2485 before the 11th.

I just hate to say this, but there will be no Fireworks Extravaganza this year.

Looking for a group or organization who would like to sponsor a game for our Activity Center. We are needing a baseball game, with a large plastic bat with a soft ball, basketball set, dominoes, Uno or Skipbo cards and beach balls. Recognition for your group or organization will be in The Statesman. If you would like to have more information, please, please give Gretta a call.

Here is a huge thank-you to the Forget Me Not Flowers and Gift Shop for the flower donations!

And we are still looking for volunteers for Saturdays. Thanks to Ellen Wallace for taking our third Saturday. She will be coming in on the 20th. If you are interested, please give Gretta a call.

I would like to thank the members of the Lions Club, one more time. They do such a wonderful job keeping the fish tank that they purchased for our residents, so clean! We greatly appreciate them so much!

We are not having a booth at the Pow Wow this year for adoptions for Christmas. So if you are interested in making Christmas a little better this year for our residents, please call.

Also, we would like to invite everyone who brought in a tree or Christmas decorations last year, please make plans to do it all over again this year. If you need more details, please call Gretta.
