Dust off the golf clubs sitting in the back of the closet. It's time for the Chandler/ Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce's seventh annual golf tournament.

The tournament will be held at Echo Creek Country Club, located on FM 317 in Leagueville. It will be held Satuiday, June 27th.

Proceeds from the tournament will go toward scholarships for Brownsboro High School seniors. Last Year, CBACC was able to award four, $500 scholarships. There are hopes of awarding more this coming year.

The Chamber's goal for the next school year is to have 24 whole scholarships and 10 or more area businesses to sponsor Prizes. Organizers are shooting for having 12, four-man teams comepeting in this year's tournament.

The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and a lunch of barbecue and trimmings served after the players finish the course.

Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place finishers, as well as to the individual closest to the hole and the individual with the longest drive.

It costs $50 per person, or $200 per team, to enter the tournament. Teams may register using the form shown above this article or by contacting a committee member of the Chamber office.

Hole sponsorships are $100 and include a sign placed on the tee box of each hole that is sponsored. The chamber had 20 sponsors last year and 12 teams of four players each for a total of 48 golfers.
