Dallas zoo fun for small cost

It is the best economic stimulus plan in town. Visit Dollar Day Thursday, July 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dallas Zoo and have a big time for a small cost.

* See big, bad Boudreaux and his other American alligator buddies at Ghosts from the Bayou.

* Catch a 4-D flick at the airconditioned 4-D Adventure Theater (additional cost applies).

* Visit Kona, the baby chimp, at the Kimberly-Clark Chimpanzee Forest.

* Look for the little titi monkey along Primate Place.

* Attend the expanded schedule of zookeeper talks throughout the park.

The general public is invited.

The Dallas Zoo says "Thanks" to the public for its support throughout the year with a special admission price of $1 all day. (The regular parking fee of $5 per car will be in effect. For reference, regular admission rates are $10 for adults 12-64; $7 for children 3- 11; $7 for seniors 65 and up. Children age 2 and under with Dallas Zoological Society members are free.) Dollar deals will be available at the Zoo throughout the day, including $1 food items such as hot dogs, chips, water, popcorn, and snow cones on Cat Green and $1 frozen treats near the exit. The Zoofari Market will have great deals on drinks, snacks, and souvenirs throughout the park and a special area at the shop for $1 and clearance items.
