Henderson County Sheriff 's Deputy Gwen Miller has been promoted to sergeant over the civil division, Sheriff Ray Nutt said.

Miller's responsibilities will include oversight of the mental division.

Miller joined the Henderson County Sheriff's Office in June 1983 as a communication officer. She was promoted to sergeant over communications and held that position until being transferred to the courthouse as a civilian supervisor.

In 1995, Miller was promoted to lieutenant over the courthouse. The following year, she was transferred to the civil division of the Sheriff's Office.

Miller holds an advanced peace officer license.
